After reading through chapter three of To Kill A Mockingbird I can can predict that the kids will not meet Arthur “Boo” Radley. I am able to predict the kids will not meet Boo because he is locked up. This is proven because he is on house arrest. Arthur got put on house arrest because his dad, Mr. Radley, assured the judge that if he let his son go into his custody that Arthur would not cause any more trouble. When put on house arrest usually the person will not get into trouble because they are on a short leash and watched very closely by their guardian. While Boo Radley was on house arrest, he stabbed his dad in the leg with a pair of scissors. Mr. Radley insisted that Boo not go to an asylum because he was not a criminal just high strung. Radley eventually took Boo home because the town thought he would rot in the basement. When people talk about being in a basement for a long time and rotting eventually the person would be taken out of the basement. Another reason people believe he is locked up is because Boo Radley is never seen. He is never seen because the Radley’s do not attend church on Sundays. It is hard to be seen when people do not go to town gatherings like church on Sundays. The shutters and doors were also closed on Sundays, which is different than Maycomb ways. When shutters and doors are closed, no one can see who is inside the house and if Boo Radley is in there. During the week the doors and shutters were also closed like the weekends at the Radley house. Usually when doors are closed are people's homes they do not want to be seen by the outside world. When Boo Radley was seen next it was 15 years later. Another reason the kids will not meet Boo is because they are scared. Throughout the town rumors and myths go around about Boo Radley and Jem and Scout have about them. One of the myths about Boo Radley is that evil lives inside of the Radley house and an unknown entity makes children

Though prejudice maybe involuntary it still does not excuse some peoples actions due to it and the fact that it is wrong. The theme of prejudice in To Kill a Mockingbird was shown various times through Harper Lee's characters Jeremy "Jem" Finch, Artur "Boo" Radley, Jean Louise "Scout" Finch, and Tom Robinson.…

“First of all, if you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view...until you climb into his skin and walk around in it” (39). What Atticus is doing is trying to convince Scout that Miss Caroline is doing what she believes is right and if she could see that, then she would get along with Miss Caroline better. Atticus says this early on in the book to Scout after she tells him all of the hardships she encountered on her first day of school and this theme stays true all the way through the entire book of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Throughout To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses Dolphus Raymond, Boo Radley,…
