Track and Field takes tons of practice to get where you would want to be to be great. Having the right mind set is a good start to trying to break a record, telling yourself that you can do it and never putting negative thoughts into your head changes a lot when trying to break a record. All records are broken from someone who doesn't stop working and pushes themselves beyond what a regular runner would do. One of my personal friends Jessica Romero who's also a former distance runner at Brownwood High School has set a new school record for the mile and the 2 mile, having the new record for the mile being a 5:23 and the new record for the 2 mile being 11:35, she gets up …show more content…
The people I run with everyday (also known as the distance fam) are a group of extremely dedicated athletes. All of them show day in and day out to put in work and get better. All of the runners are extraordinary, but there’s one in particular that stands out. This goddess of a long distances runner goes by Isabella Faye Lawrence III, more commonly referred to as Izzy. She kicks butt and takes names and if you’re running with her you are one blessed human being. Izzy is a freshman at Brownwood Hight School that never backs down from a challenge she is very dedicated in running and if she ever catches you slacking off she will surely put you in your place. We also have a coach who is an OG Savage, but we just call him Coach Hood. Coach Hood pushes us to make us the best runners we could possibly be, but watch your step cause you could get roasted up in the blink of an

At some point in time in their development, most people encounter an adult figure, who instills a positive change in their lives. For me, that person was Cindy Scannella--my track and my cross country coach for my first two years of high school. With her unique approach to coaching, Coach Scannella not only gave me the confidence to flourish in the sport and lead my team, but she also gifted me with a love for running. This passion of mine as well as her continual support has carried me through the difficulties of my grandfather’s death, my parents’ divorce, and other strenuous circumstances including the end of her time as my coach. Her presence in my life has truly altered my life for the better.…

Throughout my four years of high school, the seaside community of Narragansett, Rhode Island, has encouraged and nurtured the growth of its youthful inhabitants as students and individuals. The supportive environment and abundant opportunities available for students to pursue their passions and help others consequently benefits the community as a whole. As an athlete, and more specifically, a runner, I have aspired to motivate and encourage young athletes to enjoy the fun and friendships that emerge from being a part of a sports team. During the summer, I volunteered at the Summer Youth Track Series at Narragansett High School. Eager smiles painted the faces of the joyous young runners lining up in heats, ready to run as fast as they can in the 100 meter sprint, throw as far as they can in the turbo javelin, and jump as far as they can in the long jump.…

Now though, for better or worse, the permanent record is real, and has arrived in the form of the Internet” (2). What the author is basically saying is after you post on the internet it stays forever regardless of the delete button.…
