There were huge clashes on religion which were going on in America and in the late 17th century, these clashes between political and religious groups came to an end which led to the revolution of 1688. This marked to an era where Church of England ruled as the Church of the country. Other religions such as Catholicism, Puritanism were suppressed. Everyone started practicing one religion. But it had some spiritual dryness among believers. Religion was considered to be a past time where people followed this blindly without putting their heart and soul in it. Few years later, there was a spiritual revival in both England and America which is known as Great Awakening.
