Gombrich described in great detail each and every point that the Greek left on our world.. Before Christ is the lay out of the transformation of art compared to other time periods. Each time period brought about unique and magnificent ways to portray what they believed in and admired. The early signs of Greek work was sort of bland. No emotion was shown or the idea of the pity that the people was facing was delivered. The pottery, the mourning of the dead, was a piece that had no life in it. Simple yet beautiful, this showed how Greek used little of knowledge and turned it into a lot and provide a clear arrangement.

They had four ancient Greek period in which each mimic another time. Geometric period was very basic. It’s viewed as the learning phase the artists where still grasping what the Egyptian had created. Poetry was very common at this time and plain. Next was the Archaic Period, this is when the human form was recognize and appreciated. More people was accepted of the master piece. The Classical Period is said to have the most impact on our world today. A lot say this is the highest level of work by the Greek. Sculptures began to take off with their complexity. The last time period was the Hellenistic Period, in which great innovations was made. They copied a lot of work from pervious times and added a little urban style to
