The 60’s underwent things such as the Vietnam War, America landing on the moon, Martin Luther King Jr. breakout, and more. He helped lead riots and other actions for rebellion. Sadly, Martin Luther King Jr. was killed by a white man in the late 60’s. Although the 60’s had some rough times, we did create a “Television War (‘Daily Life’)” Finally in 1965; Americans can watch the war for the first time in history. However, the time it appeared on T.V was not until days or weeks before they could watch it. This is because America went through the videos and held back the bad news. Eventually the television crew would start going to the war scene with them. This meant that networks were supplying the footage and that the government now had no control over what Americans saw. This lead to a resistance for peace because Americans didn’t like what they saw. Americans saw things such as “ setting fire to the straw roofs with cigarette lighters as villagers stood by in tears begging them to stop” (‘Daily Life’). So I guess that didn’t help the rough times. A good thing that came from the 60’s was going to the moon and being the first ones to do it. A
