Dan Frank Ross had bright green eyes, had honey brown hair, and looked to be in his 20s . He was also 6’00” and was a muscular man. Mr.Ross normally wore any clothes that were clean, but he always wore a fedora hat to match his outfit. Normally he liked about any food or drink, depending on his mood. Mr.Ross also loved the colors black,blue, and green. Dan Ross had a lovely wife named Sophia Ross, who had chestnut colored hair, vivid blue eyes, and loved the color purple.
Before it happened Dan Frank Ross had gone into town on a misty day. Now he had to cross over a bridge that was haunted in order to get to town and back. Now no one had seen the ghost, but Mr.Ross didn’t want to take any chances. “I just won’t cross the bridge after dark. I’ll just leave before the sun starts to set, or stay in a hotel,” he thought. Although when he got to town he realized a lot of things needed to get done. Dan forgot that Fall celebration was happening Halloween night. The first thing he did was check in with a hotel or inn. “Hello,” he said to the innkeeper, “ may I get a room for the night.” “Sorry, we're full at the moment. Since the celebrations coming up everyone is trying to get a room.” replied the innkeeper. Mr.Ross checked everywhere, and everywhere was full. “ Great,” he thought, “everywhere if full!” By the time Mr.Ross was done the sun was already setting, so Dan started off. As soon as Mr.Ross reached the bridge stars were already twinkling in the sky. “I’ll just run across the bridge and hope I make it.” thought Mr.Ross, and that’s exactly what he did. May I please have a ride on your horse, or a lantern?” yelled Mr.Rose. Although the man leading the horse heard, but did not stop. As the house drew nearer Mr.Ross almost screamed, the man seemed to be missing a head. Mr.Ross seemed frozen with fear, but quickly came back to his senses as the galloping grew louder. He quickly turned and started to run. He ran screaming and yelling, but the noise seemed to go no further than the bridge as if a spell was cast over the place.
“I’m sorry!” he screamed, “I’m sorry I should have believed the legend! I don’t want to die! Please have mercy!” Although since Mr.Ross had been screaming he never heard the galloping had stopped. He turned around and saw the headless horseman had vanished. Then he heard something behind him, and he turned and the last thing he saw was a pumpkin as black as a night with no stars or moon. Then the headless horseman looked down, but the body did not stir.
Weeks later his wife Sophia came looking for him since he had not returned, hoping he was okay. As she crossed the bridge to town she saw her husband's hat sitting off to the side along with a few pumpkin shards as black as a shadow. Then slowly she finished walking to town, and ran into the police
