The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum states, “The denial or distortion of history is an assault on the truth and understanding.” Holocaust denial is the act of denying the genocide of Jews and other groups in the Holocaust during World War II. Common denial and distortions includes that the death of 6 million Jewish people never transpired, that the deaths was an enormous exaggeration, that the diary of Anne Frank is a forgery, and that the results of deaths in the concentration camps were due to starvation or diseases. From the start, the Holocaust was a secret only within Nazi Germany. The Germans mostly communicated verbally rather than written on a note to avoid any detailed planning of killing operations. Therefore, Hitler commanded that the killings are not to be spoken in German documentation or public statements to hide the killing operations from any outsiders. The documents that existed before the end of war were all destroyed.
