Over the past ten years I have learned many superb skills that have not only benefited me in my hockey career, but will also guide me in being successful in the remainder of my life. Many of these skills are crucial in succeeding the career and life I would aspire to pursue. Many I learned from the talented coaches I have been lucky enough to work with. Although there were also many skills I had to learn on my own; not only to enhance my game, but some to better my life. These all assisting me in the person I am today; helping me in my years of school, hockey and life. The first rule in hockey, always give one hundred and ten percent; perseverance is key to not only be a great hockey player but also be a great person. Helping me guide my team to many championships and to winning many games. The perseverance I showed impressed the coaches and my teammates; presenting my ability to be a leader of the team. Always trying to be the one to make my team the best that they could possibly be. Always wanting to be number one; but regardless always having a good time. Pushing them to skate harder and play smarter. Which proceeds to one of the second most important traits a person could have, which is leadership. Leadership is something only a handful of people are born with and taught during their lifetime; thus making it a more unique trait to have. Although it’s unique, it doesn't shy away from being a very important mindset to have. Being a leader takes a lot of responsibility to be able to make commands in arduous situations to create a better outcome. In some cases the people whom you are trying to lead may disagree with the way you’re trying to handle the situation. This is one of the hardest duties of being a great leader in a high pressure
