In 255 B.C the Cchinese invented a game called “Tsu-chu,” which translates to “kick bal.l”. This was the earliest and most related type of soccer to today’s modern soccer. The soccer we know and watch today really started in England in the 9th century, when big groups of people would get together and would kick a pig bladder from one place to another. Soccer then entered England public schools in the 16th century., Wwhile it still allowed grappling and use of hands in some parts ,it was a huge step towards modern soccer. By the 1700’s, soccer clubs began to pop up around England and would play matches against each other. The association FIFA was formed in 1904 and the first World Cup was held in Uruguay in 1930. Since then soccer has grown immensely popular all around the world.

Soccer first came to America in 1850’s when immigrants from England and other countries brought it over with them. The first American soccer club was founded by Gerrit Smith Miller. Gerrit set out to make a more organized version of soccer, which is the soccer we watch and play today. His new methods worked extremely well and his team never lost a game,.
