Being in theater has been so important to my growth as a person and a leader. I am very thankful to be involved in the programs I have been because they have allowed me to be in many positions as a leader and a role model. I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to mentor under highly respected leaders and performers who empowered me with the ability to independently explore multiple leadership opportunities. I joined the Chorus and the Vocal Ensemble at the high school and continued to try and better myself as a musician. My music department also offered me other musical opportunities such as festivals. I have attended several festivals such as the Lakes Region music festival and the All New England music festival. These festivals allowed me to come together with other students from different schools that loved singing and performing as much as I did. Every time I perform at one of these festivals I am overwhelmed by how beautiful music can be when everyone I am working with is just as passionate as I am about the work we are doing and also extremely talented.…

Academically, I yearn to immerse myself into the field of nursing. When inquiring about Stockton to people who attend and were accepted into the program, I got nothing but positive feedback. From the great faculty who accommodate to the students’ needs and are passionate about what they do, to the advanced nursing facilities which allow for a broadened learning experience, I also believe going to Stockton will help me with my academic goals because of its perfect and convenient location. Stockton University is close to both AtlantiCare campuses, which will be optimal for nursing clinicals and potential job opportunities. In many universities with medical programs, clinicals could be an hour or two away from the campus, but Stockton neighbors various medical facilities; exposure to the nursing field will be no problem at Stockton.…

As a stage manager, my role was integral in my theatre department at The Prout School in Wakefield, Rhode Island. I decided, at the age of sixteen, that this was what I was to do as a career for my adult life. I did all the right things in my initial college process, which led me to attending Emerson College, located in the heart of Boston. It was at the tail end of my winter break that I realized that maybe my passion for theatre had diminished, and I found myself yearning for more.…

Maybe I had been something special and unique when I was in high school, but I clearly didn’t have what it took to succeed there; or so I thought. So I planted my feet firmly on the ground, instead of up in the clouds, and I took to the technical side of theatre. Every assignment I was given I tackled with dedication, creativity, and a strong degree of professionalism. I was just so happy to be a part of the theatrical process. You see; I believe that all theatre artists have the amazing opportunity to remind themselves, their collaborators, and most importantly their audience, of the power to transcend obstacles and that they hold more power than they believe.…
