High School Diploma Persuasive Speech

Decent Essays
Even though it would be a good idea to make a bill about people who cannot get their driver’s license until they get their high school diploma, it is not the best idea for everyone. Most people graduate high school, but not everyone does. Most are high school dropouts. That means if they dropped out of high school, they would never get their driver’s license. They would have to live somewhere where they had a bike, someone else to ride with, a bus, or you are in walking distance of everything. For the people that leave high school to go to the military or the army will not be able to have a ride when they return home. That means they would have to hitchhike to the nearest town just to get to call someone to come pick them up. That’s not

Although many people believe that a person should have their high school diploma before he or she gets their driver's license, but I disagree because you can be sixteen to get your driver’s license and some people are eighteen before they get there high school diploma. I don’t think that you should have a high school diploma before you get your driver’s because when kids turn sixteen they want to start doing things for themselves, and they don’t want their parents driving them around when the 20 because they didn’t get their high school diploma. When you turn sixteen you want to go to your friends parties, and it would be embarrassing if you show up with your parents coming to drop you off and leaving, then when the party was over it might be one in the morning on a Sunday morning then you would have to wait for your parents to show and drive you back home.…

Should States be able to revoke your driver’s license which you have previously earned, or disqualify you from receiving one until you are 18; if you dropped out of highschool. A surprising 27 states have said yes to this question. No, I disagree with “No Pass No Drive” I think it’s wrong and irrelevant to whether or not we are regularly educated. To me it sounds like a government overreach into the personal lives of citizens of the state.…

Voting law opponents contend these laws disproportionately affect elderly, minority and low-income groups that tend to vote Democratic. Obtaining photo ID can be costly and burdensome. While many states with strict laws offer a free state ID for people without any other way to vote, these IDs require documents like a birth certificate that can cost up to $25 in some places. According to a study from NYU’s Brennan Center, 11 percent of voting-age citizens lack necessary photo ID while many people in rural areas have trouble accessing ID offices.…

Turning sixteen years old is an exciting time in a teenagers life. They're now eligible for a drivers license. giving them not only freedom but control , something they've yet to expirence. While its a good idea to start teens driving at the age 15 so they're able to get all the practice and expirence they need before receiving a license, driving limitations on teens should be toughened not only to protect teen drivers but the community of the teens as well. Most teens feel they're an adult by the age of 16 but they yet to take on the responsibilities and the behavior as an adult would, some areas more than others although they're many teens who are responsible with most things they do, some teens if not all feel obligated to impress those who take the passenger seat while they're driving.…

    Minimum Legal Driving Age

    • 688 Words
    • 3 Pages

I don't think that the minimum legal driving age should be raised to 18 years. Teens are doing more than just preparing themselves for their future. Many teens have extracurricular activities, jobs, volunteer work and socializing. When teens younger than 18 can't drive, all these activities fall on to their parents, who may not have the freedom or willingness to shuttle their kids. And even though rising the driving age won't necessarily prevent teen driver crashes, it could just delay them.…

    Essay On Driving Age

Most teenage drivers are involved in car crashes every year, and more are killed than in any other age group. Even to this day, 6,000 teens die in accidents annually—more than fifteen a day (Triplett 1). These alarming statistics prove that receiving a driver’s license at the age of sixteen is merely too young. Teenagers are incompetent about being on the road, which increases the chances of putting others at risk because they have not developed a strong level of maturity and experience. The driving age among teens should be increased because facts prove that teenagers cannot handle the physiological and physical challenges that approach them on the road.…

If someone's friend steals something, does the innocent friend go to jail? No. If someone's classmate gets into a fatal accident, does the unharmed classmate get their license suspended? Some high schools should not ban students from driving to and from school if they live in an area with bus service. Students should have the same rights as the staff and faculty and having to ride the bus is vert inconvenient to most people. Students should not be ban from driving to school because if they passed the driving test and can legally drive then why stop them? Students have to earn the privilege to drive it is not something that is just given, for example, having to pay your phone bill. The students have to earn the right to have a cell phone and being responsible enough to pay for it therefore why take that right from them if they did nothing wrong?…

    The Driving Age

Becoming a teen comes with a lot of desires and needs. One major desire when becoming a teen and going into high school is to get your license, but unfortunately, you have to wait a couple of years to be able to legally drive. While it could cause parents a lot of worry, the driving age should be lowered to the age of fifteen because it would create more money for state governments, it could teach teens financial responsibility, and would allow more training and education for young drivers. The first reason that the driving age should be reduced to the age of fifteen is because many teens want to be involved in extracurricular activities, like sports and clubs.…

As a high school student, I appose the thought of not letting students with a licence drive to school because of where they live in the bus district. Some examples of why that's a bad idea is first, there would be a demand for more buses. Also, the thought of a school telling students that can legally drive that they are not aloud to is a dumb move. Morning's before school can be a hassle. This is another good reason why schools shouldn't have the authority over if a student can drive to school or not.…

The driving age should be bumped up to the age 18 because they'll have more time to learn the rules of the road, gain more experience, and be more aware of driving in general. This would not only be helpful to the new drivers, but also for all the current drivers out there. Before teens could even think about going behind the wheel, they have to hit the books on the multiple rules of the road. These rules have been developed and enforced around the country so that the highways, streets, and all pavement is safe for all while in and on all motor vehicles.…
