Here Is New York By E. B White Analysis

In the essay “Here Is New York” by E.B White. White in this essay combines memories, time, and “the change” that New York make with time. He talks about New York as a poem. White does not see New York like a simple city with big buildings, amazing monuments, or movies White sees deeper into New York than any other person that comes to visit. White state’s “New York will bestow the gift of loneliness and the gift of privacy” (E.B White, 1st line.) White is telling us that New York is giving you the privacy that you were looking for when you are running away from your village. New York can give us this abstract gift. We cannot see this gift but yet we can feel it. New York is one of the biggest places that I have been in and I never thought that in a big place like this I will find some privacy, because where I used to live it was so difficult having some privacy or being alone for a second. Every step I took the people around me already knew where I would go or what I’ll do. I was feeling if I was a prisoner of my own life, till I came here and see how people do not care about you only themselves. They do not care how you dress every day or even your hairstyle, or if you are tall or short. Then I realized that for many people that live in New York you will find your privacy and all loneliness that you will need. E.B White state’s “No one should come to New York to live unless he is willing to be lucky.” White is telling us that no one should come to New York, if you do not think you will have luck to be successful. I agree with white, but not at all, I think that is a combination between luck and hard work. There are so many people that came to New York to work, looking for a better life. There are a lot of immigrant that came from others countries and migrates that came from others parts of the country only for work and have a better life. When you came to New York to be successful you must know that you should work hard to get your goal. Sometimes you can have a good day of lucky and find a good job or sometimes the luck can be against you, this is one reason why you cannot trust only in your luck. According, White does not think that to be success is only luck, but he thinks that is part of the steps that you must make to be success in your
