The leaders of the council have an excellent span of control but on the other hand communication could be a major problem and employees further down the hierarchy may not get much say in any of the decisions being made. For potential employees to find a job all they need to do is Hampshire city council which should be a link directing you to their website. To achieve an engaged, skilled and motivated workforce the council has a few phases to take which are: if they say they are looking for motivated and skilled employees externally making sure its for the candidates which are more qualified. The council also helps employees internally who would like to move into another organisation within the department. The human resources is working together with Capita. Capita is involved in challengers to improvise the HR sector in Southampton city council, which therefore help improve the council as a whole.

As mentioned above the council in Southampton collects an annual budget from the government to be able to provide for the city

It’s a way of observing the external environment, accepting matters that businesses don’t have a say in. The council is not going to be affected throughout all of the factors so in my opinion political and economical matters are going to be the top challengers for the council.
Every council will face a political issue and the majority face the budget allocated by the government each year. However people might suggest this as an economical issue but it is all under the ones who are in control to decide the amount SCC will get. Simon Letts is the one who is in charge in the council, which therefore is part of a labour party. Conferring to (Simon Letts presentation).

There are economic factors, which stand for council tax, any types of fees are important to Southampton city council. I do feel that Southampton has economical issues in recent years.
