In the article “At Ole Miss, the Tailgaters Never Lose” by William L. Hamilton, readers learn about the famous football-weekend parties at the Grove on the University of Mississippi. The article uses spatial organization because the writer focuses on the location and tailgating happening at one place. Hamilton also uses topical organization, moving from the past to present in different parts of the article. This helped the reader to understand more about the past of Ole Miss and how things became the way they are today. The author is a detached spectator in Ole Miss and did not participate in the story or tailgating.…

Honestly, I’ll come right out and admit that I have never been the Detroit Lion’s number one fan, or any football fan for that matter. Sure, I had technically gone to each of the homecoming games both years in high school, but only for the sole excuse of being able to put some red war paint on my face and attempt to catch up with some friends. The only exposure I had to the sport was walking through the doors of Phase Three during cross country season. Day after day, I was forced to push through groups of teenage guys reeking with a putrid stench of dried sweat, rotting eggs, and grass stains; the smell in itself was enough to make my eyes water.…

On February 11 at 10:30am, I attended Aggieland Saturday, an open house for prospective students, and observed the Aggie band play. The band played a total of 4 songs and the last song being the Aggie War Hymn. Unfortunately, the performance didn’t contain the entire aggie band as I expected, but rather members from all the necessary subgroups were present. The key instruments were aerophones, membranophones, and idiophone. The major aerophones consisted of: clarinets, piccolos, trumpets, trombones, and tubas; the membranophones were the drums and snares, which demonstrated indeterminate pitch.…

If you woke up Thursday morning and were freaked out by the reports that four Ohio State players had been suspended for the season opener against Virginia Tech, then you should go back to bed, lay down and take a nap, because this isn't much of a headline. First off, clearly the biggest loss is Joey Bosa, a possible number one overall pick, and the leader of the Ohio State defense. Yet, with all that being said, the Buckeyes will be able to make it out of one game without Bosa against the team receiving the twenty-ninth most votes in the Amway Coaches Poll, Virginia Tech. Adolphus Washington will likely hold down the defensive line, put he won't be without help.…

There are two main types of football; College Football and the National Football League. Although, some might say that the NFL is better than College football, but there is a greater number of benefits that come from college football; that lead many football fans to say, “College football is much better than the NFL.” Admittedly, in college, only for a short period of time can a college football athlete actually play while they are enrolled in a college or university. Nonetheless, a college football player can be drafted into the NFL after he has completed his education, or he can choose to get a good job from using his education he got from attending a college. I was 10 years old, playing in my third season of football, and my first ever game under the bright lights surrounding the high school stadium.
