I think their answers were consistent with what I know about them from this text because Hamilton always seemed to be a man who liked to talk and write as Chernow describes in lines 41 through 51, so he decided to just write a lot of pages to respond to the accusation.
While Jefferson didn't say anything, because as previously in the text, he just didn't care about a lot of things and he didn't like to talk or write as much as Hamilton.
8. The final paragraph is hard to believe, because Chernow made us see while we were reading the text that Hamilton and Jefferson didn't get along and have very different ideas, and then Hamilton supports Jefferson.
