The most “terrifying” place in Sheboygan holds the name: The Dominion of Terror located on 15th street on the north side of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This haunted attraction has been previously funded by Sheboygan Jaycees. The building has been torn down to create the most horrifying rooms to scare the “courageous”. The building consists of three floors. The exterior of the building is supported by stark brick walls. It consists of three rows of four feet by two feet sash windows. The old sash windows were loose, rattled, and drafty - the paint was chipping, flaking and faded. The rotten wood seems to make the windows difficult to open and close. The plain and old-style of the building gives a sketchy atmosphere. On the days of Halloween, the …show more content…
Inside the building, there are 27 rooms - some with dark areas, others with bright and startling areas. Each room was enveloped by seven foot, fragile wooden walls with a secret path to the next room. Last year, the system had a hospital theme and most of the rooms resembled asylums, institutions for the mentally ill. The asylums were organized by lights flickering and patients full of blood screaming and shaking awkwardly. Other rooms had their own theme. One of the rooms consisted of a class enclosed by four walls of lockers with a teacher and twenty bloody and sticky desks with a model of an underfed, abused elementary school student. As you enter that room you can hear the teacher yelling, “Why did you fail my class?” and slamming the desks with a rusty meter stick repeatedly. It resembled the nightmare of the typical straight A’s, top ranked student. Another room was a dark library furnished with a maze of tall filled bookshelves. As you walk through the maze of the dark library, you can see a skinny, dark, and flexible figure, climbing bookshelf to bookshelf yelling, “Why are you stealing my books? Get out of here!” The finale of the haunted house was for nyctophobic individuals. There is nothing to be seen. The only way out is to feel and follow the sticky wooden wall. You become thrilled and relieved when you find the moonlight

    The Usher House Analysis

The Usher house is described in great lengths by Poe; he depicts it as gloomy, depressing, eerie, and gothic. As the narrator approaches the mansion he automatically feels the negative energy radiating into him as he states, “with the first glimpse of the building, a sense of insufferable gloom pervaded my spirit” (Poe) He goes on to describe the walls as “bleak” and the windows as “vacant and eye like” as he moves closer and closer to the spooky mansion. The house reminds the narrator of , “the specious totality of old wood-work which has rotted for long years in some neglected vault, with no disturbance from the breath of the external air” (Poe) and this vivid image gives the reader the idea that this house is much like a mind that has been eroding for decades with no disturbance or interference from the outside world. The house is falling apart on the inside without showing barely any defects on the exterior.…

The bar area was the longest bar, but had zero exits. Only way to leave the bar was through the foyer back to the revolving door.…

In the early Christian church, Halloween was a day for remembrance of martyrs, which is also called All Saints Day. All Hallows Eve, was the day before All Saints Day which began that time of remembrance. Presently, Halloween had become mostly a secular holiday.
