It is a great challenge for health care providers who want to practice a shared approach to provide a safe environment for wanderers. The Information technology (IT) can address these challenges and enhances wanderers’ home health care services. According to the given case study, Maria Sanchez is a chief executive officer of “Hacienda Home for the Aged” that has a very active “Residence Council” and a very active and involved “Family Council”. Because the home is followed by an important principle, “commitment to ensuring the home like atmosphere and to contacting between resident and staff”, she is aware about the issues of technological solutions that are used to address the “Wandering Residence”. She wants to introduce several health information and clinical technologies for enhancing resident care in home. For example, the smart phone apps and health information tracking systems can help wanders and their family supporters to keep health information, such as medical history, physician connections, medication timings, and health conditions organized and handy.
2- Network Control and Flexibility System:
PC-based software online occurrence reports for wandered away from home are used as a network control as well as flexibility system. This system allows the status reports, audit traces and historical reports of individual wanderer exercises. This is especially useful for AD patients' personal wandering conditions that can be addressed by staff when their wandering habits and patterns are closely assessed.
