The self-assessment questionnaire is designed to measure the authentic leadership by assessing four components of the process: self-awareness, internalized moral perspective, balanced processing, and relational transparency. The assessment uses two different scores, high and low. High being from 16-20, these scores indicate stronger authentic leadership and Low being 15 and below which indicates weaker authentic leadership. Self-awareness refers to the personal insights of a leader. It is how people understand themselves, including their strengths and weaknesses. Self-awareness includes reflecting on your core values, identity, emotions, motives and goals. On self-awareness, I received a score of 17. I am very self-aware in all of the things that I do in life. I know who I am and what I want in life. I know the things that I am great at in life and situations and I know the things that I am not so great at and am not afraid to admit that and ask others for help. On internalized moral perspective, I received one of my highest scores, a 19. Internalized moral perspective is when an individual uses their internal moral standards and values to guide their behavior rather than allow outside pressure to control them. I believe I received a high score here because I am a very religious person, I was always taught to be kind no matter what and to always treat

Executives didn’t have elaborate offices, in fact, the office didn’t even have carpet, and they ate their lunch in the cafeteria along with the rest of the employees. In addition, employees were encouraged to help make business decisions in the areas of their expertise. This was a way to further develop products produced by the…

Good leaders are important in many situations. They can help members of a group come together to complete a task or goal. It is important that leaders pay attention to their followers needs and ideas. It is equally important that followers listen and engage with their leader to build a relationship and an understanding of each other (Northouse, 2015). This ensures that both the leader and followers are comfortable seeking help from one another and working together.…

In previous assignments, I distinguished between authentic and servant leadership approaches. Authentic leadership focuses on qualities that help leaders to be perceived as trustworthy and believable by their followers (Northouse, 2012). One of the many strengths of authentic leadership is that it fulfills a need for trustworthy leadership (Northouse, 2012). According to Northouse (2012), servant leaders put followers first, empower them, and help them develop their full personal capacity. Servant leaders build strong relationships with others by giving followers the support they need, involving them in decisions, and building a sense of…

Without key qualities of leadership, an individual cannot fully provide their customers or its employees with the experiences they deserve. Without proper skills and reinforcement, leaders cannot foster a positive workforce or support their employees. Without certain key factors a leader or manager becomes just another employee, and not the leader they are required to be. Having leaders with the skills such as honesty, accountability, the ability to inspire and to delegate, and basic communication skills are all necessary parts to becoming proven and respectable leaders within a business.…

Leadership Style Self-Assessment 1 After taking the style questionnaire during while studying the Leadership Grid in Northouse; as expected, I found that my leadership style varies, although of the three theories discussed, more closely relates to team leadership. My assessment found my strengths to be with authority compliance (9,1) and team management (9,9). As suggested by Northouse (2012), “The 9,1 style of leadership places heavy emphasis on task and job requirements, and less emphasis on people, except to the extent that people are tools for getting the job done” (p. 79). The Team Management style is based on tasks and relationships. I consider myself more tasks orientated and analytical, while spending less time with my subordinates’ personal issues.…

I attempt to take pieces from each of their leadership qualities, use things I liked and stayed away from their “bad” leadership qualities I did not believe helped me grow as a leader or produce quality jobs or mission results. All the while, my own personality and beliefs intertwined with their leadership styles to make me who I am today as a leader.…
