Gustav Stresemann Research Paper
Gustav Stresemann was a German politician and statesman. He accomplished many things from serving as a Chancellor in 1923 to a Foreign Minister 1923-1929 to winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926. Gustav Stresemann put a lot of hard work to achieve his goal. He made major contributions into politics from his experiences in education, office, politics, and military.
Gustav Stresemann was born May 10, 1878 in Berlin, Germany. His father, Ernest Stresemann, was a Berlin innkeeper and beer distributor.. Since he was little he helped out with the family business. He then switch his studies into economics and political science. He wanted to improve in his professional prospects rather than his affinity. Stresemann was active in Burschenschaften movement of student fraternities. He soon became editor of the Allgemerie Deustsche Universitats-Zeitung. His newspaper articles were often political which combine liberalism with some nationalism. In 1898, he transferred to University of Leipzig to get a docrates degree. One year later he was the manager of the local branch of Saxon Manufacture Association in 1902. As a manager, he notice his cilents were disorganized and disadvantage.Charmistic and organize personality, he increase the number of members from 180 to 5,000 in ten years(1902-1912). This action help gain his reputation as a gifted organizer a negotiator. In 1903, he was married to a women name Kate Kleefeld, whom he had two sons with. When Stresemann shared his ideas with the Protestants reformer, Fredrich Naumann, and collaborate the National Social Union, he joined the National Liberal Party, one of the strongest single party in Reich. The National Liberal Party was found in 1867 to guide Bismarck’s policy unification, but at the price of accepting a constution.
