Involvement- Mr. Kinder is involved and physically present in the building each and every day. At the beginning of each work day Mr. Kinder can be found in the student commons area meeting with both faculty and students. During passing periods he is commonly out and about interacting with staff members and spends lunch periods eating with his staff members in the student cafeteria. He attends all daily team meetings and facilitates weekly staff meetings. Mr. Kinder can regularly be found helping in the copy room or mopping up a mess that needs immediate attention. He is always in the mix and in a position to encourage, contribute and support his employees. 2. Team Builder- Mr. Kinder has fostered a team oriented culture at Greenville R-2 by creating many collaborative work groups. Mr. Kinder has built professional teams that bring together staff with very different areas of expertise, education and backgrounds. Despite these differences each member has an equity role in the performance of assigned tasks. One such work group is the Academic Intervention Team. The AIT consists of core subject teachers who act as case managers for students who are struggling academically and are in danger of falling behind or losing credit. Kinder has had a tremendous impact on how the Greenville School District operates, before he was hired as a district administrator the schools culture was organized in a traditional top-down autocratic leadership style. The previous administrator made all the decisions with little to no input from the professional staff, parents or community stakeholders. The culture was one of employee disconnect with low rates of job satisfaction, high rates of professional absence and large numbers of employment turn-over each year. Under Mr. Kinder’s tenure the district has initiated professional learning community policies and he has worked hard to establish the collaborative culture now in found within the district. Teachers are not simply told what will be done, but rather they are the ones making the plans and implementing changes from within. Mr. Kinder has implemented school outreach programs such as an electronic parent portal gradebook system which allows parents real time access to teacher gradebooks and upcoming student assignments. The school has also begun using School Reach Systems to keep parents up-to-date on school activities and notified of important information. The school district has also increased their community outreach efforts. Recently they have coordinated with community members to create a new school wide booster program that will provide funds for various academic and technology based
