Students who like to refrain from taking out loans, or do not have the financial support are more inclined to live off campus. In off campus living, opportunities to have roommates to share the cost of rent and other bills are common. Off campus housing allows the opportunity to pay monthly payments which on campus does not allow. Therefore, on campus students have to pay a lump sum of the cost, which can be problematic for students who do not want to go into debt. For that reason, the affordability for living off campus is…

I was sixteen years old and on the verge of becoming just another high school dropout. My life had become overwhelmingly complicated due to an initial depression, which grew stronger as I gave up on much of what was important for me at the time. This downward spiral had to end. Finally, I withdrew from high school halfway through my sophomore year, but not before voluntarily choosing to attend a military school 600 miles away from home. Transitioning from a high school student from a small town, to a college campus where the students body is almost as large as my town population is quite terrifying. Im use to my 1,500 classmates, all of us attempting to squeeze down the same stairway, trying to find the time to do Art Club, student council, band (marching and concert), Mathletes, quizbowl, keeping up with homework, and working is a difficult process.
