Perhaps the most amazing stat of the year was Golden State's start to the season when they won its first 24 games in a row under interim Head Coach Luke Walton. All of that conviction turned to doubt when reigning MVP G Stephen Curry ended up sidelined with an ankle injury that occurred towards the end of the first game of the Warriors first round series against the Houston Rockets. The Warriors won that game 104-78 and followed that up with a home win 115-106 without Curry in the lineup, giving them a 2-0 series lead.
Apparently, the injury was a little more serious than first thought as Curry also missed game 3, which ended up in a disappointing 98-97 loss for the Warriors. Perhaps due in large part to the Warriors poor performance in that game, Curry was green-lighted to suit up for game 4 in Houston. It was a decision that may have changed the course of the playoffs.
On the last play of the first half, Curry slipped on some moisture on the court and turned his knee. There was growing concern among fans about what happened when he didn't return in the second half. The Warriors went on to take a 3-1 lead in the series with a 121-94
