What is it- Goiter is a condition where the thyroid gland under a person's adam apple and will grow larger than normal and can cause a person struggle to cough and breathe.

Causes- Deficiency of iodine, Graves disease, Hashimoto's disease, Solitary thyroid nodules, Multinodular goiter, thyroid cancer, pregnancy, inflammation, sex, age, medical history, menopause, certain medications, exposure to radiation.

Affected population- It affects anybody but it can have a higher chance the older someone gets, and many other factors.
