At a young age my parents have always pushed me to excel in school and to do my very best. I was always taught the importance of going to school to get a good education to one day be successful in life. At one point in my life I felt like giving up on my educational goals because I begin to feel as if I was not smart enough to accomplish my goals. My parents would always encourage me to get back up and try again no matter how difficult the situation was. They have helped me to realize that there are so many wonderful opportunities like being able to get in college and applying for scholarships.

Growing up my family was not the wealthiest in the world but my mom and grandma would always provide a way for me and my brothers to attend school. There are so many young people today who are not financially stable enough to afford college. I think that being able to receive scholarships and others forms of financial aid will help them feel more secure about being able to attend college. They will have a future to look forward to while earning a college degree.

In the article “Why should the federal government help students go to college”, the author argues that without financial aid, many students wouldn 't be able to go to college anymore. In addition, the author considered that higher educated students would be beneficial to our country and economy in the future. After reading this article, I agree with the author’s ideas. That is to say, if the Federal government helps students go to college, as a result many social issues will be solved. For example, the economic gap between the wealthy and the poor would be reduced, population of the homeless would be reduced and social inequality, even environmental issues.…

For example, my father Adolfo Garcia would work from Monday to Saturday from sun up to sun down in order to provide food on the table, clothing on our backs, and a roof over are heads. Although both of my parents encourage and motivate me to attend school and pursue higher education, I am also motivated by all the sacrifices they have made because I know that if it wasn’t for the support of my parents I would not be where I am…

My parents have said to work hard and do my best in school. I never understood why until I got older. The reason they told me to do my best in school was because they wanted me to think about school and my future. Both of my parents didn't get the chance to go to college. They both came to the United States looking for what most people come to the United States for ‘The American Dream’, they wanted a place where they could raise their children and find a stable job.…

Many people do not attend school due to the lack of funds. There are also many who do not receive financial help due to the fact that education has become very expensive. Students who have parents that have a high socioeconomic status tend to have to pay out of pocket, which sometimes does place the family in a financial bind. Since every year the cost of education rises, it makes it hard for students who cannot afford their tuition to attend college. Thus all students should have the opportunity to receive financial assistance; students who qualify for scholarships, who have to pay out of pocket for their education, and those who are nontraditional.…
