Also, this source is extremely valuable to historians specifically researching the impact of Truman’s advisors on Truman policy because the book comprehensively talks about one of Truman’s advisors, Kennan, including his most important works, the long telegram and the Mr. X article. In addition, most of the sources used for the content in this book came directly from primary sources like interviews with George F. This source is valuable because not only does it discuss the origins of the Truman Doctrine by discussing its context, it also describes the different presidential cabinet and advisors, such as Dean Acheson and George Kennan’s impacts on formation of the Truman Doctrine. The major limitation to this source, however, is that none of the sources are footnoted or even stated, therefore although the source is credible because the author is well versed in history, the trail of sources for further study is not present, hindering historians trying to use this
