In most cultures, people view women as the submissive gender and men as the dominant gender, so women cannot be leaders (Chaffins). Because this stereotype has been rooted in people’s mind for too long, it is hard to change. Nowadays, many parents are still raising their children according to gender roles. They do not encourage their daughters to achieve a higher level of education and make the girls conform to gender roles (Chaffins).
