I remember learning GCSE History of the different ages us humans has gone through. From roughly 2400 BC where individuals had only the abacus for calculations to today where access to information is easily accessible on demand. What are these devices and how are they able to allow us to carry out such complex tasks so quickly and efficiently? This is what I am intrigued to know and I feel that learning computer science at degree level will further my knowledge in coding and analysing what does and doesn’t work for a computer/electronic device and understand how such complex software such as Google, Computer application, even Youtube can work so seamlessly in day to day living.

It will be my first time traveling for an elongated period of time without my family alongside me. Additionally, we are given more support from a teacher in high school than that given in college, so I will encounter the effort required to do well in college.…

Second, I have a love for science. I feel like I have been pointed in the direction of nursing after giving much thought as to how I would be able to handle the job and how I can make a difference in someone else's life. I would love to be a part of CCU's nursing program because I am a strong believer in Christ and the thought that he calls to a job where we can not only help ourselves, but help others in our society.…

The U.S. healthcare system has long been provider-centered, price-driven, and reactive. Frequent changes in administration and policies remind me of the need to bring new innovative ways of thinking to the healthcare industry to increase health outcomes for patients. Over the next five years, I look forward to building a knowledge base around the intersectionality of business and healthcare to find ways to enhance the patient experience through strategy and technology integration. Post-MBA, a consulting career would provide me with an opportunity to partner with a variety of clients to solve their most pressing issues and learn industry best practices alongside a diverse team of individuals with unique perspectives. I desire to work in an environment that embraces challenges, pushes boundaries, and develops its employees.…

My ability to befriend the common person and my empathy has brought many to seek my advice. The way that I can relate and understand individuals has made me look within to see how I can use those qualities to help others and have it be a profession.…

I started the social work program at Oakland University in 2013 at that time my goal was to obtain my BSW with a minor in child welfare. My other goal was to work for the D.H.H.S in child protection services. I never thought about going further in my education mostly because I am a much older student and the amount of debt already accumulated seems slightly overwhelming. The other reason is my age itself, or at least it was. When starting out I let my age become a negative and always felt somewhat out of place.…

I have learned through my 24 years in the human services field to expect the unexpected and be prepared for anything. I take things that are unfamiliar to me as an opportunity to learn and experience something new. At this time there are no personal issues that would impact my choice for a practicum site, and I have no previous, existing, or continuing health/medical conditions or other issues that would impact my placement. I have chosen the social work profession as my career choice because I have spent over half of my life serving others in a variety of positions.…
