“Everybody's journey is individual. If you fall in love with a boy, you fall in love with a boy. The fact that many Americans consider it a disease says more about them than it does about homosexuality.” (Social Critic James A. Baldwin). Many people are scared to be themselves. Certain members of The Church discriminate gay people and tell them that the bible condemns homosexuality but they leave out a lot of other things the bible condemns. Marriage is a right to all human beings and should not be taken away due to who they want to marry. A lot of the members of the LGBT community are discriminated and denied at stores, schools, and other public areas. Homosexuals can and should be loved and accepted by the church, be supported in marriage, and shouldn’t be discriminated against. It doesn’t matter the color of our skin, where we’re from, the language that we speak, or who we are attracted to. We are all people and all deserve equal rights. Christianity is a religion based off of loving everyone but a large portion of Christians are excluding a large group of people. As a Christian myself I can say that I’ve yet to find, in the gospels, where Jesus Himself condemns homosexuality. Love is love. It doesn’t matter if you’re heterosexual or homosexual. Having two moms or two dads is not a setback. It often can lead to more success. Bullying doesn’t end in school, you can be bullied as an adult by private business and government organization. Having two moms or two dads is not a setback. It often can lead to more success. Bullying doesn’t end in school, you can be bullied as an adult by private business and government organization and while trying to buy, sell, rent, lease, or finance a house. The reality is that there are homosexuals and homosexual partners. People try to deny it but it is here and it always will be. I believe British politician Francis Maude said it best when she said, “It always seemed to me a bit pointless to disapprove of homosexuality. It's like disapproving of rain.” We will never live in a free, equil world until members of the LGBT community are accepted in any and all aspects, then and only then will we all be truly

According to David Masci and Michael Lipka in “Where Christian churches, other religions stand on gay marriage”, all major religions, especially the largest in the world, Catholicism, disapprove of same-sex marriage; only Presbyterians and a few smaller movements approve of it. And this perspective is reflected in each religion’s followers, too.…

Sometimes, the teachers are the one’s doing the bullying. This is infuriating because I know several people that are gay and most of them are not in your face about it, they are not trying to rub the fact that they are gay in my face. They are just normal people and that is not how the world sees them. Life is really difficult for these children and it is just sad that they have to go through things such as bullying. The world today is not great by any means.…

In a world of injustice and hatred, one would believe that people would at least have the audacity to respect others playing the cruel game of life. Homosexuals have faced many hardships and discriminatory laws that have suggested that they differ from heterosexuals and do not deserve equality. The unjust treatment towards homosexuals lacks mutual respect to marriage laws, adoption policies, and job opportunities. Homosexual couples may not fit the generic standards of what is considered normal in society but are humans, a part of our own species, and just as equally worthy of all rights that heterosexual couples have. On the other hand, there is a number of people who believe that homosexuality is a sin and against their religion, and others…

I’m aware that, by definition, marriage is between and man and a woman according to the Bible. I do disagree with this definition of marriage. If a man and a man or a woman and a woman fall in love, why are we to strip them of their right? It’s unfair to them and they deserve to be able to do what everyone else is able to do.…

From the website Bullying Statistics, suicide is the “third major cause of young adult deaths in the United States,” and bullying is one of the major reasons why kids decide to take their lives. I think that bullying is a major issue in this country and needs to be resolved. But as I was reading Amelia’s blog, she portrays that being homosexual can cause more bullying to be attracted to those individuals. I agree with this idea but we have to remember that bullying does not just affect homosexuals. In one year there are over “4,400 deaths among young adults due to suicide.”…

For many years now homosexuals have been scrutinized by society because who they chose to love and how they chose to live their lives. Till this day there are many homosexuals that are afraid to come out because they fear how they will be treated by family, friends, and the people around them. It has been said that nearly a fifth of the 5,462 so-called single-bias hate crimes reported to the F.B.I. in 2014 were because of the target’s sexual orientation, or, in some cases, their perceived orientation. (Park & Mykhyalyshyn, 2016) To be honest, I feel like that the increase of hate crimes against homosexuals is because of the increase of people who are accepting them for who they are.…

One huge problem for early LGBT rights movements was religious opposition, especially christian opposition. For over 2000 years, Christians have seen being gay as immoral (“Gay”). Many of them refer back to the biblical sections that many Christian followers interpreted as anti-gay (Slick). One of the most commonly referenced verse, “Leviticus 18:22, ‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination’ ” (Slick).…

If you are not a part of the LGBT community then you might not have understood or even realized the amount of discrimination that society, specifically employers, place on these individuals. What’s even more astonishing to think about is the fact that it doesn’t stop there. The wage gap in regards to the entire LGBTQ. plus community is not easy to measure because of the lack of access to information about the majority of the community. There is a lack of information to be found for a LGBT people and it may be due to many people not coming out and stating their sexual orientation on official documents, the most information to be found is focused on gay men and lesbians.…

1 in 4 non-heterosexual children are predicted to be bullied per year (“Gay Bullying”, 2013). Bullying among children is already a problem in schools. Now that gay and lesbian politics have become such a large part of society, the opinions and politics of life have rubbed off on children. For someone who is already fragile in their self-identity, such as someone who is trying to find out their sexual orientation or gender identity, a bully can leave lasting psychological scars and trigger the start of depression. Examples of traits and behaviors that can initiate bullying behaviors against a person are gender non-conformity and “coming out” as LGBT (“Suicidal Ideation”, 2012,…

But, on the other hand, telling a couple they can’t marry because of it, and making it illegal for gays to marry, is striping homosexuals of their natural rights. We as the United States can’t be known as the country who treats everyone equal, because we don’t. Especially against homosexual males and females. To sum it all up, denying them their natural rights is wrong, and society shouldn’t be dictating who can marry who. They will marry whoever they want, it’s not hurting anyone in particular, so why is it illegal?…

Although I have own beliefs I do respect everyones religion and background. One of my own personal beliefs that the Catholic church does not agree with is people who are homosexual. The Catholic Church says marriage can only be between a man and woman but the reason is not because of the people themselves. This is because the whole goal of God is to promote life and future generations that is why marriage was meant to be reserved for men and women. While I am completely pro life, I have some concerns with this.…
