While it is true that home is a place where one is cared for, no matter how he looks, acts, and feels, it is important that parents play their roles in the proper upbringing of their children. Another theory considered in this study is Erikson’s theory on Psychosocial Development (1950) which identifies psychosocial crises or conflicts that mark the stages of life. He organized his theory around the personal and social tasks that need to be developed in each stage of development. At each stage, the person needs to interact with those of society in some ways. According to him, whatever attitude that would be developed in each stage is in function of the kind of relationship the child has with significant persons around him, their warmth and affection and the predictability of the child’s world.
