Over 2,000,000 million students dropped out their sophomore year in 2015 due to lack of credits and failing grades. This article is going to give you some tips on how to become a successful high school freshman student. Freshman year is your most important year and could be critical if you lack. To be a successful high school student you must be responsible, participate and set goals. As stated above you should be responsible. Keeping track of assignments and due dates will keep you organized and up to date. Losing assignments that are due will affect your grade and you want to keep a good GPA. It is also important that you keep composure and be responsible about how you take things on and your attitude towards people. Getting mad at your computer and slamming it shut could possibly damage your screen; leaving your parents with a $75 dollar bill and very unhappy. You should also follow school regulations and teachers regulations in the classroom. Breaking rules can be severe or just a fair verbal warning. Responsibility is a very important and if you lack responsibility it you can end up in a very bad place. In addition you should participate. Participation is looked for among a lot of colleges. You should participate in sports and or clubs, but don’t forget to participate in class when you can. Participation in class can help …show more content…
Even though it might seem stupid, setting goals can help you on those, “why should I even go to school” days. Goals can be short term or long term. For example, a long term goal can be a career goal. This can help you decide which courses to take during high school. An example of a short term goal can be you getting all your work done at school so you can relax at home. Do not make your goals too far-fetched like wanting to go to the moon in a cow costume by the end of the day. Make them realistic, have a bench mark and work hard towards it. Once you achieve them you will feel great for you
