According to The Dictionary, an acquaintance is ‘a person known to one, but not a close friend.’ So you walk in to a new class, and you see nobody that you know. Out of the corner of your eye you see that girl, we will call her Annie for now, and you start to make your way towards her. Now Annie is the person that you pass in the hallways without a glance or a wave. You might have a small conversation here or there, but in other words, you are practically strangers. Nonetheless, as you walk in to the class of unknown people, you have the option to fend for yourself or go sit next to Annie and talk. She is after all the only person that you know in the class. In other words, you only talk to this person in this one class. This is why they are known as the acquaintance. The frenemy is one of the most complicated friendships that you will have. Face to face, you are all smiles, but once one of you turns your back, the smiles are replaced with grimaces and eyerolls. Although some people will take no time to deny having a frenemy, everybody has or has had one in their life. One of the most obvious examples of a frenemy is the group of girls in the movie Mean Girls. The movie is full of backstabbing and the humiliation of others. As a result, one of the reasons the movie became so big is that people can relate to it. There is a scene in the movie where Regina, the head of the mean girls, compliments a passing girls skirt only to turn to Cady and declare how ugly she thought the skirt was.
