Turner showed such a deep background in the frontier’s significance in decreasing the settler’s ties with England. Further, he explained the frontier’s impact on milestones that changed America forever, such as railroads and manufacturing. Turner’s account was also very different from other historians who touched on American history. He proved the frontier influenced more than just politics, as Hofstadter 's paranoid style did, and more the minds of Americans which led to events like the Revolution. In the same way, his position demonstrated that the frontier affected many time periods in American History like farming and industrialization, unlike Beard’s which covers only the Constitutional period.…

The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass written by Frederick Douglass is about his origins and how he escaped the cruelty of slavery, to become the literate speaker that advocated for the abolishment of slavery. Douglass was born into slavery on the plantation of Captain Anthony in Tuckahoe, Maryland, and was quickly thrust into the hell that was slavery. Douglass spent his youth up until early adulthood toiling under the whip of multiple masters, until he finally escaped in September 1838, and was able to tell his story, criticizing slavery in hopes of achieving abolition. The frontier is like a border that changes the area as it sweeps across. Not only does it change the people’s behavior in the land, but it also alters the way people think. They adapt to new ways that make life different. This frontier line that changes the lives of people is, what I see to be, a method of rapid and effective Americanization. My definition of Americanization is similar to the common definition: to turn a foreign item into an American item.…

The Burning houses of Lords and Commons by Joseph Mallord William Turner uses color in a fluid way. Instead of using sharp contrasts of colors of different wavelengths and from opposite ends of the spectrum, the artist prefers to use more complementary shades and tones of the colors he uses. While Turner uses blue, yellow/red, green, brown he styles them in a way that the colors complement each other, seamlessly shifting from one hue to the other the work never looks as if one color is offsetting the other. No color is specifically drawing your attention from the other, in order to make it stand out more. In terms of temperatures from the colors used Turners use of these tonal colors and shades gives the work a warm color palette.…
