The End is Only the Beginning“Owen Zimmeron. Flight Trainee.” Said Dr. Rose. As I stand there waiting for my name to be called for the careers ceremony as it had already been skipped, Dr. Rose says, “That is all, thank you for your time.” The crowd confusingly says, “Thank you.” And i still stand there hoping that for some reason She will come back and say my name. Finally, after a long period of time, Dr. Rose came back and says, “It seems i have made a mistake. Please accept my apology.” We all reply “Your apology is accepted.” “Chase Mcclear. We have a special role for you. You have shown the elders your bravery, and independence through the years. I pulled up to a small, broken down building. I thought to myself that can’t be it, but as i walked up to the door, an eye recognition system scanned my eye and the door opened. I walked down a long flight of stairs, and i saw him. The elder that is my teacher. He’s called the giver. He was sitting in a red, velvet chair, in a room full of books waiting for me.I sat in the wooded chair across from him and he said “give me your arms.” “Why” i said. “Because that’s how we’re going to do our lessons. Now give them to me.” “Okay.” I hesitantly gave him my arms and he hovered his over mine. “Are you ready?” “For what?” “Just say yes or no.” “Yes i guess.” “Okay.” He placed his arms on mine and automatically, I saw something. “It’s a creature that I’ve never seen before. It has some stripes, with wings, but every other stripe are black but the others have something different about them like....” “Color.” He interrupted me with. “That’s color. It was yellow.” I look around the room we were sitting in and i noticed some of the books were yellow. “Does everything in here have color?” I asked. “Yes, actually everything in this town has color.” He replied. “But that’s all we get to do today.
