Five Days In November Summary

Five Days in November is a brief account of the five days that president Kennedy and his wife Jackie Kennedy where in Texas. it was time during those five days that the world stopped completely. In a matter of seconds the world went from excitingly watching the presidential motorcade and speeches being delivered by president Kennedy to an utter despair as they watched their beloved president be shot to death in a presidential motorcade.

It was Clint Hill, Jackie Kennedy’s personal agent of secret service who tried to deflect the bullets being fired at Kennedy. Hill had been with Jackie through all five days that she was in Texas. In that first day in leaving the White House Hill had gone over Mrs. Kennedy’s Schedule noting where she had marked in red pen “JBK will not attend” this was her signature way of politely declining going to one …show more content…
He had been woken by a phone call from the president saying that he needed Mrs. Kennedy downstairs to attend his speech in the Dallas hotel they were staying in. After giving his speech the president, Jackie and the rest of the secret service detail where to depart on a motorcade to board a plane and fly out so the president could deliver yet another speech. the secret service car had been lined up right next to the presidential limousine, the entire time of the motorcade, Hill and the rest of the secret service detail standing on the footboards of their own secret service car ready to protect the president at any given moment. Hill had been scanning the crowd the whole time looking for anyone unusual he couldn’t spot anything while he was looking and that was when it happened. Hill heard a gunshot ring in the air it was then he turned to look at the president, his hands were profusely gripping his throat.
