Fitting in just happens in The Giver community because they want everything to stay the same and everyone to be the same so there are no problems. Deep down, that feeling of being alone is just eating them alive, but only they have the power to change that, and if they don’t, then that’s their fault for not trying. In The Giver everyone fits in, but in The List, not many did. In the end of The List, it turns out, that everyone just wanted that little list to just go away and never be created again. To judge someone's actions, what they wear, or what you've heard about them is a habit everyone has and it's hard not to do. If you know someone like that, help them out. You don't have to hang out with them, it could be as easy as directing them to the right people you think they would best fit in with. Chances are, they want to have friends just like you, so help them and soon enough they will fit in with their own group of friends. With that being said, the theory of everyone wanting to fit in and feel accepted, can be proven in both literature and human
