A significant passage in the novel, was when Paul had a flashback about something that happened in his neighborhood while he was riding his bike back home around dinnertime.

The evidence shows that Joey is angry at Paul, for joining them to a group he didnt wanna join. Joey is upset that Paul is sticking up for Henry D. and everyone in Henry’s group. In the book Tangerine the author Edward Bloor uses many sensory details, and figurative language throughout the entire book. For instance, “Each page was filled with rectangular boxes stacked on top of eachother. The boxes were light green football fields with white grid lines, at ten yard intervals” Based on the quoted evidence, paul describes the boxes for Erik’s college qualifications as football fields with white grid lines, and ten yard intervals. This evidence shows the use of sensory details, or figurative language that the author uses to describe the rectangular boxes. (159 Bloor) Tangerine by Edward Bloor, is a great novel, and I would rate it 7/10. I didn’t rate the novel 10/10 because the author overuses soccer throughout the book. Furthermore, I would recommend this novel for middle school students who love to read good books, and love to play soccer. They will enjoy the use of flashbacks, as they are very interesting, and plot moving. This book is very addictive and fun to
