Danielle is a 30yo, G2 P0, who is currently 35 weeks 0 days. She has been followed for an increased AFP. She has not had any issues with growth restriction but is here today for a final growth scan.

On ultrasound there is a live fetus in cephalic presentation. Fetal biometry measures just slightly ahead of dates. It is of note that the abdomen measures almost 3 weeks ahead of dates. Amniotic fluid is normal at 13 cm. A limited survey was unremarkable as noted above. Umbilical artery Doppler was within normal limits. BPP is 8/8.

Today’s scan was overall reassuring. In general, we worry about placental insufficiency with elevated AFP but there is no evidence of that on today’s exam. We talked about the possibility of shoulder
