Feedback is a necessary process that is needed to achieve goals, both personally and professionally. Without effective feedback the individual(s) are blindly wandering in the dark, in an attempt to accidentally stumble on the desired goal. Not only is motivating, it is very energizing. The speed feedback exercise led to my reflection of my military days. In the many years I spent sailing the seas, I noticed that the United States Navy most of the policies were reactive instead of proactive. Although we are dominating force controlling the seas. Many assume that such control comes from cutting-edge technology and training, which both play a pivotal role in completing the mission on or ahead time. However, feedback on how to accomplish the exercise or mission assigned to the command is what makes our military so efficient. Each member of the crew is critical to the success of the unit, therefore, their performance in a given situation is of great importance. That contract comprises of keeping each other on-track. Which was referenced in my first reflection paper, regarding the psychological contract. This made it easier for me to give my feedback to them. I assume that all would like to successfully complete their degree, I know that i would like too. Offering effective feedback can help my fellow classmates achieve their objective. Additionally, while providing feedback, the opportunity was afforded to me to see if my classmates have been actively listening.
