When I was around this age I felt like my self-esteem was very low. At this age you are growing and your body is changing in ways that you never pictured them to change. In this part of development I took everything someone said to me to heart. This played a big role in why my self-esteem was low. It wasn’t only the peers around me begin it down but it was also me. When kids use to joke about me I use to laugh and act like the words they was saying to me didn’t hurt but in all reality they hurt more then hits. At this age you are under so much pressure to fit in with your peers because you don’t wanna feel like the outcast. At this age we listen to everything our peers say about you when you keep hearing it over and over in your mind you start to believe that what they are saying about you is true. Then you try to change something about yourself that don’t need to be changed but with the mind set we have at this age we don’t understand just because someone say something about you don’t mean that it is true. This is the most important stage to me where parents need to remind their kids of how much they love them and how much they are loved don’t matter what kids say. Parents in this stage are the kids biggest confronts so they also play a role in the kids self-esteem. In this stage parents need to make sure they remind their kids of how beautiful they are how smart they are. If parents were to do this more in this development stage it would improve kids self-esteem and this would greatly impact the development of kids during these
