The things influencing imperialism at this time were religion, ideological, politics, exploring, and economics.The four that stand out to me were politics, exploring, economics and religion. Exploration influenced imperialism the most. Exploration affected imperialism when the the Europeans explored Africa in need of raw materials. At this time period, raw materials were a huge source for money. This made explorers do anything to get raw materials. The person that had the greatest success was David Livingston. He explored the central part of Africa which was never done. This would become up to a 30 year journey. The reason behind this was because explorers would conquer parts of africa just to mine or deforest some areas. This was shown as different political groups would take standpoints on Africa. Some groups didn't agree with what most europeans were doing. This did not stop europeans from taking over Africa in need of raw materials. Raw materials was not the only thing Europeans were looking for. Expanding how much territory a country owned was represent strength. This was politically correct but not morally correct.
