The National FFA Organization is a high school club open to anyone willing to be a part of it. The FFA is able to be accessed through many ways. You can drive to your local high school Agriculture class or access it via internet. It may be accessed throughout the normal school hours by going and talking to your local FFA advisor. Anyone is able to access anything within the FFA. It is open to the public, but in order to be a member, you must be a high school student enrolled in an Ag class and paid your dues. The FFA is designed to help young adults come across a career they want to go into and to teach leadership skills and to be organized to help students reach their full potential within the Agricultural Industry.

Within the Organization the opportunities of things you can do are absolutely limitless. There is something for everyone even if you aren’t super involved in agriculture. One of FFA’s best qualities is it

“Today, almost half a million student members are engaged in a wide range of agricultural education activities, leading to over 300 career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industry”(Gustin). There are spring CDE’s (Career Development Events) where you study a subject and compete against other students in the same contest. One of the contests you can compete in is the Vet Science contest. In the Vet Science contest you can go over everything that a veterinarian technician would have to know. If you go through the contest for the whole 4 years you would be very well equipped to be a vet tech right out of high school. While you are competing in these events colleges are looking at your scores and how you do at these contests and you can get invited to go to that college to study in that career field. This is a good way FFA helps students find career opportunities that interest them and give them a head
