Explain Why High School Should Start Later

High school should start at a later time. The reason for this is because teenagers need more sleep. The later that school starts the more people will show up. It will help the attendance of the whole school. I work in the office in the mornings and there are a ton of people that sign in because they over sleep. If people didn’t have to wake up as early more people would show up to school on time and that would mean they would learn more and get their work done. Teachers are always complaining about people not getting their homework in but I know that after I go to school then have cheerleading I don’t feel like going home and sitting doing tons of homework because I am wore out. School starting later will help everyone out as a whole. So, if school started later it would probably help the attendance of the whole school including the teachers. Many people over sleep or just can’t wake up that early, mainly teenagers while we are at this age. Many people get in trouble for falling asleep in class, or being too tired they can’t pay attention. In my first few periods im always half asleep and don’t really comprehend anything till after lunch. This would also help falling asleep while driving not only with us teenagers but also with the teachers. It would also help the athletes because they would have built-in homework time so that we wouldn’t have to go home after practice or a game and do homework. I think this idea is the best all-around for everything not only the teenagers but for the teachers and the coaches also. My coaches have kids in school also so for them to help them with homework after teaching and coaching after having practice or game is very hard.
