SUBJECT: Green Proposal It has come to my attention that over the past few years, our company’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint have been less than successful. Below are some suggestions that will help improve upon the current attempts and hopefully will bring us closer to a goal of lowering our carbon footprint by 25%. I believe with the support of the company and its employees, we can meet our goal by next year.

This is the time to begin implementing 21st century business standards into a business that is still operating like it is stuck in the 20th century. By exercising a few options not only will there be a reduction in the company’s carbon footprint upward of the 25% anticipated, but the savings will be immense. That money will be able to be put into future projects and continue to hire more employees that are held to the same E227 Global Solutions standard.

However the best efficient methods are energy savings, using recycled materials, recycling and waste management, and save paper. One of the sources to help implement these options is an E-book written by Erinn Morgan that gives a step by step process of how to go green within a timeframe of eight weeks. Using this as a guideline, the company will become more efficient at switching over to more eco-friendly habits in a short amount of time. The book mentions switching to CFL bulbs which use 75 percent less energy than regular light bulbs. This would be the first step in implementing energy savings.
Report Organization The three parts that the proposal will consist of are solutions and benefits, costs, and the conclusion. Each section is important in that it shows in detail the principal factors in the deciding factor of whether or not one or more options would be the most sufficient. In Solution and Benefits each option will be presented. Energy savings, using recycled materials, recycling and waste management, and save paper are the main choices. Energy savings will describe how to save energy. The following options are all effective methods to lessen E227 Global Solutions’ carbon

Environmental sustainability is quickly transitioning from a problem for future generations to one of today’s most pressing issues. With Washington scrambling to produce legislation that will position America as a key player in climate talks, now more than ever the government has to make tough decisions regarding the energy sector. When facing said decisions, it is important to exercise caution while evaluating legislation that could alter the future of America’s economy. An example of such a bill is the Clean Power Plan, or the CPP, the newest piece under Obama’s Clean Air Act initiative, which aims to affordably reduce carbon emissions on US soil through the restriction and regulation of energy production. The Clean Power Plan should not become a law because it goes to extreme measures in order to achieve a nominal environmental impact, all at the cost of destroying the energy sector.…

As Chief Executive Officer of AutoZone, realizing how important environmental responsibility is to consumers, I would strategize ways to decrease AutoZone’s carbon footprint to become a greener or more eco-friendly company. Research suggests that a socially responsible corporation has a competitive advantage (Bolis, Brunoro, and Sznelwar, 2014). I would begin finding ways to reduce or eliminate waste, including but not limited to using recyclable packaging for all parts delivered to the stores from distribution hubs. I would work with suppliers to ensure they begin sending these parts to our distribution hubs in recyclable packaging. I would also work closely with the suppliers to reduce their carbon footprint in the production of the parts…

If you don’t follow the herd, you may risk losing out especially in this competitive climate e.g. Kodak’s inability to cope with new technology. Also, there is a huge pressure from environmental groups such as NGOs to impose regulation on companies to go-green. Besides, organization characteristics such as level of internationalization, firm size and reputation also play a huge role in influencing executives to adopt environmental management practices. There is an apparent gap between “objective” and “perceived” pressures, resulting in plant managers adopting practices by the parent companies.11 Both institutional and organization characteristics affects each other, which in turns influence management to adopt the practices. Apart from implementing practices to meet environmental regulations, some firms volunteer to take on additional environmental practices because they see this as an opportunity to create a competitive advantage and for more business partnerships e.g. Patagonia partnered with eBay for its swap market.…

My vision for America is as bright as the colors on our flag and we are already moving towards it as we continue to advance our science and technology every day. In my vision, I see an America where you can go to a hospital, type in your problems on a computer, and it will tell the doctor what tests you need to further determine what ails you. The doctor will be able to enter your test results onto the computer and it will tell what is wrong, then gives the treatment options. In this vision, there will no longer be waiting hours in hospitals, nor will it take weeks to obtain an appointment; the process will be a million times faster. This is not the only change I see coming: as we share more and more ideas with other countries continuing to find faster cheaper means of production, we will continue to find more time and money to spend on the environment.…

It is important to note that there are positives and negatives in this respect. The most notable positive is that the countries who kept with their contractual agreements satisfied their GHG reduction requirements. These countries reduced collective emissions by roughly 16% (Schiermeier, 2012). The Kyoto Protocol has also helped create a widespread knowledge of GHG emissions and their impact on the climate. Ambitions to utilize clean energy has encouraged research and investment in these new technologies, and an awareness of the importance of maintaining carbon sinks has promoted a drive to preserve natural…
