Three obstacles I have had to overcome include me being Caribbean-American, a woman, and of the LGBT+ community. Being a first generation Caribbean-American allows me to overcome many challenges because my parents are both immigrants who came to America to receive a better life not only for themselves, but for me and my sister as well. Being a woman is very hard in America being that we are payed less than men and we have been oppressed periodically throughout history and it is just finally starting to change.
