In baseball or even all sports when players hit free agency they all want to cash into these monster contracts. Now these contracts differ from sport to sport. For example, in football there is a greater chance of an injury and the season is not as long as say baseball, basketball,soccer. Since those reasons the player's contract would be smaller. So what their job is, is that to get that player as much money as they can. One way they can do that is verbally agreeing to a deal with a team and then calling them back saying another team is upping the anty another 5 million. So what the agent is doing is he is having the teams bif back and forth trying to get his client as much money as possible.
After then, just recently MLB (Major League Baseball) made a deal with a major baseball and sports company called Under Armour. The deal that they made is that under armour will pay a big amount of money to the MLB and then they will get their logo on the player's uniform. Major League Baseball will be making a lot of money off of this which will also get other franchises to contact them wanting to get there brands out in the world.
Finally, all of these scenarios can be related to greed because they all take advantage of money of teams or businesses. There is all types of greed in the world and sports are just one of the problems that will never get
