Embouchure
- Keep the reed moist.
- Tuck the lower lip over your bottom teeth.
- Get a good amount of mouthpiece, about ½ an inch.
- Bring the corners of your lips forward and keep them firm.
- Chin flat.
Posture and finger positioning
- Sit straight, with your shoulders relaxed and feet flat on the ground.
- Keep your fingers directly above the holes, with only a little space, so that you can play faster.
- Hold your head up, and bring the clarinet towards you.
Breathing and articulation
- Breathe deeply and support tone from diaphragm.
- Tip of tongue to tip of reed for quicker articulation.
- Try saying too when breathing out for better articulation.
- Play using strong steady stream of air.
- When breathing, be quick
