On 8Apr17 at 1236 hrs. I, Deputy Halbasch, was dispatched to 20880 Co Rd 91 for the report of an OFP violation.
Dispatch informed me Amy Strandell was reporting that Lane Strandell had forced his way into the house after he was allowed to stay/reside in a cabin behind the home. I requested dispatch place the OFP paperwork into the records management system so I could review them enroute. Inv. Schlag arrived just prior to my arrival and spoke with Amy briefly. I arrive and Inv. Schlag update me of the information he gathered.
We made contact with Lane inside the cabin located 58 feet from the house. Lane was visibly intoxicated, had slurred speech & wanted to sit down. Lane did admit to us that he did force his way inside the home & he left his shoes & phone inside the home when asked where they were. Lane stated he was inside the house overnight, which he was/is allowed to do, and knew he violated the OFP when he was asked if he knew he was not to …show more content…
Amy stated the doors were all locked and when Lane forced his way in the wooden door jamb broke and she heard the hardware hit the floor. Amy stated Lane did purchase beer last night & we located an open one liter bottle of Black Velvet in the garage near the pickup he drives. Inside the pickup I was able to observe the OFP paperwork between Lane & Amy.
I advised Amy that Lane was being arrested for violating the OFP and she would be contacted by the jail or courts if/when Lane was released as he may need to come to the home to gather his property. It should be known, when Inv. Schlag & I were inside the cabin, there was no furniture & it did not appear to have running water or power. The only item of personal property was a sleeping bag on the floor of the living room area.
I then cleared from the home with no further action taken at this time.
