Charlie, in your second year with the Quality Department I have seen you take initiative in the administrative part of the Quality Administrator job by pick up tasks that were handled by a previous team member, including bay set sheets, inspection data entry and DMR administration. You continue to show that you can effectively support the manufacturing lines working on 2nd shift by responding to the teams when called upon in most cases. To immediately address the areas that have fallen in the Development Needed, you need to continue to focus on two things; “Ability to recognize problems and act” and “Initiative”. Each of these areas has not necessarily been performed poorly, but are areas that I have not seen substantial focus or effort to improve…

Dear Children’s Hospital and Medical Center Administration, I am a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, and I have worked at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center for eleven years. I am writing to disclose information that I believe demonstrates a misuse of locus of authority, a breach of the American Medical Associations Code of Medical Ethics, and a breach of Children’s Hospital and Medical Center Code of Conduct by Dr. Bud Shaw. After verifying the facts of Dr. Shaw’s story with the employees that were on duty at the time of the incident, I have chosen to share the information with the administration of Children’s Hospital and Medical Center. On October 15, 2015 in a personal conversation that took place in the cafeteria of Children’s Hospital and Medical Center between Dr. Sally Doe, Dr. Shaw, and myself; Dr. Bud Shaw shared the actions he took in the care of his daughter while she was a patient at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in late September of 2015.…

A red line can just seem like a color and a shape to some, but in the Seattle Grace hospital it represents the lives of every roaming doctor and nurse. Throughout the hospital, this red line is painted through hallways and doors. It represents where these elite surgeons are allowed to go, compared to the average citizen that walks in with a complaint. It separates areas where the hospital goes from being accessible to all, to only enterable by few. When one walks into a hospital there are many aspects to notice.…

The state of California where I work is currently the only state to have a nurse to patient ratio laws with the standard being set for medical surgical units at five patients for one nurse, telemetry units have four patients for one nurse and intensive care units…

    1. It is my responsibility as a hospital administrator to keep my data secure, and whether that means hiring a IT security company or maintaining a high security software is my responsibility in order to stay within HIPPA guidelines. 2.…

Dr. Johnson gave me a bag full of prescriptions and I used the Drug ID function on my Lexi-Comp to identify each vial. Close to the end of my shift, a nurse approached the pharmacy asking us to do a medication reconciliation on a patient who had recently been admitted to the floor. This had been his second time being admitted to the hospital in the last week so he was no stranger to the floor. Dr. Johnson explained to me that since he was a recent admit, she could print his past medication list from his last visit and we could use that as a guide for our reconciliation. When we entered the room, the patient seemed lethargic and confused, after introducing ourselves, I began the reconciliation process.…
