With an increase in healthy alternatives and foods, consumers are looking for snacks that will provide similar nutrients as a meal. Consumers are looking for snacks that apply to their food allergies and restrictions. In looking at Euromonitor, there has been an increase of gluten free by 2% and 1% increase in milk allergies. Food allergies, especially among children have increased by 50% in the past 20 years alone. As a food company, we have to investigate external factors. Dieting is a popular choice for people to lose weight and provide essential nutrients in what they consume. According to Euromonitor, the importance of health factors and influences for people include an increased awareness of vegetable and fruit intake along with increasing the amount of water intake per person. Americans have an increased importance on cutting pasta and carbohydrates than years in the past. These trends continue with the importance of fat in the diet because it has dropped 2% in important health factors. …show more content…
It is important to tap into this large category because it houses the most potential customers. America’s views on priorities and traits have adjusted since 2015, there is an increased significance on successful professional occupations and less of an emphasis on friends and family socializing. Since consumers are spending less time with friends and family, they have decreased the amount of alcohol intake to improve health. The importance of eating processed food has decreased from 27.3% to 25.6% which could mean that consumers are beginning to trust companies on creating healthy
