Ethical Implications Of Body Cameras

Improved Essays
To begin, I do believe that body cameras will be effective based on the statistic from the article that, “ use of force by police officers declined 60% in first year since introduction of cameras in Rialto, California. Additionally, police body cameras should be an expense that taxpayers should support, because it could save the department from being sued, (which would save tax payer money in the long run). The other response that I would think would be more effective and cheaper would be a voice recorder device to be attached to the officer uniform. Yet, there might be similar ethical implications that the body camera devices have, such as people right to privacy.
